Yeah so I had this rooster character that was part of a different story that wil now never get made, so have chosen to give myself a massive headache by incorporating the character into the Kingdom of Rivers story instead, because I just have this insane need to realise a prickly grumpy yet wise GrandMaster of a character, forever cursed into the form of a chicken.....

Orginally the character lived on top of a weather-vain atop a mysterious interdimensional shrine a little like Glastonbury Tor, called 'The Tower of Gales' (where the four winds of the Earth emerge from.......(an actual ancient monument I've actually set foot in when I visited Athens (click the weather vane on the left if interested to learn more... Mainland Greece inspired and blew my mind in many ways as a student/fanatic of ancient history, deffo will have to visit again some day .) But yes, since now my roosters being transfered to a story about rivers instead where the element of wind doesn't play such a huge part,  was thinking of changing his tower as one of the 'Guardien Temples of the Four Great Springs' of the Earth, places of pilgrimage all the rivers of the world could be sent to for reconnection or retraining...

You see in the story, an organization named F.L.O.W. (Future Longevity Of Water) was set up by the hidden water spirits of the UK in the 1800's as a response to the swift decline in the quality of UK rivers following the Industrial Revolution. This organisation amongst many other responsibilties such as keeping a close eye of all aspects of a  rivers biodiversity/ ecosystem maintainace /water quality etc,  is also tasked with the reschooling of any rivers who have  become lazy and lost their way in the modern age some of which, greatly  loosing their orginal connection to nature itself..This loss of knowlege extends to the knowledge required to deal with of all the various enemies of myth and folklore that the rivers often had to face off against throughout history...

So throughout the story you'll see some of the the rivers (in humanoid spiriual form) return to a dimension known as 'The Source' to recieve briefings/ retraining etc from some of the great water spirits of the UK. Fun characters such as Lord Confluence (who can connect two neighbouring riverss, combine and swap their various abilities and powers), Lord  Tributary (who can can control the flow, direction and distribution of power between two or more neighbouring  rivers enabling special moves, power-up attacks etc during extreme circumstances), and Lord Estuary (who can call upon the power of the oceans of the Earth to lend a hand  'The Seven Seas' are like crazy mythical 'titan' like entities that weald all kinds of useful powers helpful to rivers, such as speeding up the watercycle etc..)

So yeah as much of a headache as it will be to draw one of the Water Spirit Masters as a chicken, its just an itch that needs scratching. I just think the idea of this crynical. pessimistic and grumpy old rooster as one of the stories mentor's, could just be so much more fun than creating him in humanoid form (He can peck them on the skull with that classic woodpecker sound effect fun, whenever they dont listen haa...) Its not something easily explained in words so best way is to show you in the comic,  Kingdom of Rivers is just some lighthearted fun, not some story that will take it itself too seriously. Reckon people will love it and get some laughs out of it.
